EA student among headliners at Madison chamber event
Carr to join speakers from Facebook, Upworthy

Exploration Academy freshman AJ Carr has plenty on his plate balancing school and his nonprofit organization Building Bosses.
But this month, he’ll have to add one more thing to his schedule, as he’s been selected to be one of three headliners for the Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce’s annual IceBreaker event April 28.
The theme for this third year of the event is “Prodigum,” Latin for an omen or sign of things to come, according to the chamber’s website. The event began in 2015 as a networking opportunity for local business owners.
“This year’s speakers are Greater Madison prodigies, and they will address how this community’s innovation and entrepreneurial spirit have played an important role in fostering their own success and inspiring the next generation of talent,” according to a website description.
Carr, a Fitchburg resident, will be joined by graduates from West and Memorial high schools. Kaaren Hanson, who graduated from Memorial in 1988, is the design director at Facebook. Peter Koechley, a 1999 graduate of West, is the co-founder of Upworthy and was previously the youngest-ever managing editor of The Onion. Read more …
