Weekly Update 10-28-2016

Happy Wednesday!

This was a short week at Exploration Academy, but we tried to pack a lot into it.  This week, 3 seminars started, to join the already up and running Election Seminar.  This, in addition to our Achieve3000 Seminar and Math Hour, means we have a learning opportunity available for students every hour of the day outside of their individual projects.

A couple highlights from this week include guest speakers in the Computer Programming Seminar, who discussed the importance of diversity in the tech industry.  In the Election Seminar, students walked to the Verona City Building and met the City Clerk.  Students had the chance to learn about the election process, steps in place to protect individuals’ votes, and career opportunities within the city.

Remember this is a short week.  There is no school on Thursday or Friday this week.  Advisors will be available from 7:15 am to 11:15 am on Thursday for conferences.

Also, November 17th from 6:00-8:00 is the Exploration Academy Showcase. Students will be showing off their best work from the first months of the school year.  All students are expected to attend this evening, and we hope all families will be able to attend.

Finally, late last week an email was sent out regarding ways you can help support Exploration Academy.  We hope you all have had a chance to read it and were able to find at least one way you could help our school!

Have a great rest of you week!
