Weekly Update 11-11-2016
What a week in EA! A large group of students attended a lecture at the Space Place on Monday, students worked on creating murals for both the school and the community, our seminars addressed everything from the election to python programming, and students prepared projects for the showcase next week.
We would like to thank DAMA (Dane Arts Mural Arts). They spent the whole week in our school working with students to teach them various painting
techniques and provide them a space to express their creativity. Many of the birds our students created are decorating our halls. The rest will be part of mural that will be hung in Fitchburg in the spring.
Don’t forget next week is our first showcase of the year! A tentative schedule for the night has been attached. The showcase is November 17th from 6:00-8:00. Students will be showing off their best work from the first months of the school year. There will also be a special session on that night for seniors about graduation and applying to colleges. All students are expected to attend this evening, and we hope all families will be able to attend. If transportation to or from the showcase is an issue, please let us know and we will work to make arrangements!
Many of our students are also participating in the district food drive. This week’s items are Mandarin oranges, canned peaches, peanut butter, dry beans, and shampoo. We appreciate any donation to this cause.
Students and families graduating this year, please remember to provide your Weebly e-portfolio URL address on your application. Many applications do not have a space for this, so you will need to find another space to add this as a note. Your Weebly must be published to be viewed by college admissions. Also, when you request transcripts through Parchment, make sure to request your Exploration Academy Transcript.
We hope you have a great weekend!
